Scotts Valley Unified School District is the 9th lowest funded Unified School District in the entire state of California and Brook Knoll Elementary is the lowest funded Elementary School in all of Santa Cruz County. Despite a significant lack of funding, our district ranks very high year after year (28th out of over 9,500 in 2018!) because of dedicated parents who volunteer countless hours to our students and school, an incredibly passionate staff that works far and above their job descriptions to make sure our students have what they need, and generous donations from families and local businesses to help support our fundraising efforts to pay for vital programs we'd otherwise do without.
